What to know before you plant

All of our herbs, flowers, vegetables, and tomatoes are grown in OMRI-listed, biodegradable pots. These biodegradable and compostable pots can be planted right into your garden or preferred container. Before planting, water plants well and gently tear off the top half-inch and bottom of the pot to allow your plant to take root and access nutrients in the soil.

Our growing practices

All of our plant starts are lovingly grown in local, organic seed start mix from Summer Creek Farm, in Thurmont, MD. The same seeds used for the plant starts are what we plant on our Big Kitchen Farm. All of the seeds are safe, healthy, non-GMO seeds. While there are some barriers to labeling ourselves as an organic farm, we use organic farming methods to grow the produce that end up in our restaurants and at our Catonsville Farm Stand.

Give your garden the best

For our plant sale, our farmer selected plenty of high-yielding crops to keep your garden producing all summer long! We even have crack-resistant and temperature-resistant varieties of tomatoes available to ensure a bountiful garden.
